About the job

We are looking for a SQL developer who's about more than just databases to join our agile team.

The work is database focussed, combining SQL development and ad-hoc querying with database maintenance and performance optimisation. However we'd also like you to turn your hand to web application development, where we currently use a variety of technologies including ASP.NET , Entity Framework, RESTful services, JavaScript (Angular), CSS(LESS) and HTML. Being multi-channel retailer our projects range across areas such as point of sale, warehousing operations, CRM, marketing, e-commerce and reporting. Because we trade around the clock, we will also need you to provide ad-hoc out of hours support on occasion.

About you

You're expected to be a confident and self-motivated developer, equally effective when working as part of a team or on solo projects. You'll be logical and organised with good attention to detail, and you'll be comfortable talking to people across the business when you have questions about their requirements, explaining what you need in non-technical terms.

You'll have several years' experience of SQL Server up to and including 2008 and some familiarity with 2012 and 2014. You should have strong knowledge of TSQL, and be able to write and debug scripts to produce efficient code. Ideally you'll have experience of Entity Framework working from a code first and a database first perspective too. Experience of web application development through the whole stack would be advantageous, and familiarity with the Angular framework would be a bonus.

You'll readily ask questions, hit Google/StackOverflow or use our Pluralsight subscription if you're not sure about something. We don't limit ourselves to specific technologies and aim to choose the best tool for the job, so you'll have your ear to the ground of the development community, keeping abreast of what's going on with a view to identifying appropriate improvements for our business.

About the job

As Retail Operations Director you will have a wide ranging role, running and developing our retail and ecommerce operation and delivering fantastic customer service at every point our customers come into contact with our brand.

You will have responsibility for every aspect of our retail operation, including sales, service, store development and design, and in-store marketing, and for our ecommerce customer service team and customer fulfilment centre.

Across all areas of responsibility you must work within budgets to achieve KPIs and business objectives while consistently putting our customers' experience first. Your team must live and breathe our brand, inspiring our customers to feel great and you must lead them in a way that ensures everyone delivers this consistently and continually.

As well as being responsible for the Retail Operations team, you will join a team of directors and share in the running of the company, involving you in a variety of things outside your function, including strategic planning for the business, new business development and forecasting business activity.

About you

We are looking for a talented manager with proven experience in a senior management role in a retail environment across geographically diverse sites. As head of a large team (around 600) you must be a skilled leader, able to provide direction and ensure every team member feels valued, motivated and listened to.

A strong commercial focus is important; you must have proven experience of financial accountability– managing budgets and meeting sales targets. We are looking for a logical thinker who is able to challenge systems and processes and find improvements to them.

Customer focus is integral to the role and the successful candidate must have an excellent understanding of our service, and be dedicated to delivering this for all our customers. Experience of creating store environments would be useful, as would knowledge of retail site selection and experience of opening new stores.

Previous experience at director level is not essential; what is more important is that you are adaptable, customer focused and keen to learn. As a Bravissimo director you will be a 'player manager', we take a hands-on approach so you must be willing to have a go at new things, and get involved in the wider business.

We are looking for a Customer Service Consultant to join our lively and friendly team. The main focus of the role is to maximise the experience our customers receive when they contact us via eCommerce, telephone, by email, in writing or through social media.

All consultants are trained fitters and can offer style and product advice for both Bravissimo and Pepperberry products. As well as providing customers with fitting and style advice when customers call to place orders, the team have a number of daily administrative duties including dealing with customer queries, returned items, exchange orders and investigate any faulty items or lost parcels. All consultants also spend time each month at our Leamington store helping customers and performing general store duties.

The opening hours for Customer Services are 8.30am and 8.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am-5pm Saturday, plus Bank Holidays and Sundays as required. Your normal working pattern will involve you working shifts across our opening hours, being fully flexible in line with the needs of the business.
