Bravissimo is a young, rapidly expanding, friendly company that is dedicated to doing the best for our customers. We set ourselves high standards and are constantly looking to find ways to improve the things that we do. As well as this, we provide a friendly working environment so that we all enjoy our jobs and feel committed to the company. If you want to work for a company that you feel proud to be part of, in a job that you really enjoy, a job at Bravissimo could be for you.
Bravissimo is a dynamic, entrepreneurial company which, since its launch in 1995, has grown consistently year on year. We provide lingerie, swimwear and clothing for women who need a D-KK cup bra, and offer a service to inspire them to celebrate their curves and feel good about themselves. As a multi-channel retailer, we sell our products via mail order, the web, and our 23 shops.
We stock a wide range of lingerie and bra-sized swimwear and have our own range of strappy tops and nightwear with built-in bras. We also have a clothing range, which we sell under the brand name Pepperberry, which offers clothes cut for women who need a bigger size on the top than on the bottom.
Bravissimo has won many awards, and this year was number 10 in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to work for.
As Production and Supply Director you will be responsible for managing our supply chain, from the initial development of product, right through to delivery to our shops and customers. With your team of 150 (30 in head office, 120 in our warehouses) you will develop patterns and grades for all own label intimates and clothing styles; manage production of own brand products using a variety of UK and overseas suppliers and manufacturers; bring both own label and branded styles into the business at the right time and in the right quantities; receive and store the product in our two warehouses; allocate and distribute it across our 23 shops; and fulfil our mail order/web customer orders and returns.
As well as being responsible for the Production and Supply function you will join a team of 4 other directors and share in the running of the company. As directors we all work together on the development of the business, and as part of the team you will get involved in a variety of things outside the Production and Supply function. Examples might be strategic planning for the business, attending team meetings in our shops, forecasting business activity, or visiting potential new shop locations to assess their suitability.
We are looking for a strong manager with at least 5 years’ experience in clothing/lingerie production and supply. As head of a large team you will provide leadership and direction to everyone within your function so experience of managing and motivating an operational team is essential. Knowledge of technical pattern development would be useful, as would experience of working with overseas factories. Experience of warehousing and/or mail order fulfilment would also be an advantage.
As a multi-channel retailer with up to 90 sizes per product our merchandising and allocation is extremely numerically complex. Previous experience of merchandising is not necessary, but a high level of numeracy and an aptitude for complex mathematical concepts is essential, as you will be driving strategy in this area. An ‘A’ in maths A level or a maths based degree would be a distinct advantage.
Experience is important, but what matters most is the person you are. We want a logical thinker with a questioning approach, who will revisit existing systems and processes and find improvements to them. As a Bravissimo director you will be a ‘player manager’ and take a hands-on approach to the business so you must be willing to have a go at new things, and get involved in the wider business.
