Full Stack Web Developer - Head Office (Leamington Spa, Warwickshire)

Node.js, React, Docker

Salary: Competitive depending on experience

About Bravissimo

Bravissimo is an award-winning multi-channel retailer which provides lingerie, swimwear and clothing for women who are a D cup or above. Our aim is to support and inspire our customers to celebrate their curves and feel good about themselves. We have 25 shops in the UK as well as a well-established website and mail order service. For the last 10 years we have been one of the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to work for. We have ambitious plans for growth and are now looking for a Web Developer to work with us in achieving this.

About the role

We are looking for a full stack web developer to join our agile team and help us craft a fantastic customer experience as we rebuild our high-traffic desktop and mobile websites.

The work is both technical and creative in nature, requiring a blend of backend and frontend skills. As we transition from the .NET stack to a “twelve-factor” Linux cloud environment, you can expect to encounter technologies like Node.js, JavaScript (React, Angular), HTML/CSS (SCSS), RethinkDB along with a bit of legacy work involving ASP.NET, C#, Entity Framework and SQL Server. Whilst our focus right now is very much on the newer stack, you will need to be comfortable getting involved with both stacks as required.

Embracing a DevOps philosophy, we also use tools such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, Rancher and New Relic. Open-minded and forward-looking, we are always evaluating the best tool or technology for the job so don’t expect us to stand still for too long.

Being a multi-channel retailer, our projects range across areas such as point of sale, warehousing operations, CRM, marketing and e-commerce. Whilst you will specialise in one area you will no doubt contribute to others over time. Because we trade around the clock, we will also need you to provide ad-hoc out of hours support occasionally.

Working at Bravissimo is fun and challenging, offering the opportunity to develop your career in an organisation that puts customers at the heart of what we do and enables you to contribute to the positive impact we have on them.

About you

You’ll be a competent and self-motivated coder, able to prove your skills and provide examples of commercial websites or applications (especially on mobile) you've contributed to – bonus points for retail experience.

We don’t expect you to know all the technologies we use. What really matters is your ability to understand concepts quickly, work with fresh ideas in an agile environment and contribute as appropriate. We’re looking for someone hungry to learn with us and also keen to share your findings internally and with the wider development community.

You will have a logical mind and good attention to detail, able to craft a polished product from design concepts provided. Whilst you won't necessarily be a designer, it would be great if you had a creative spark.

As a good communicator, you'll be keen to get involved in discussions and debates and express your own views. Whenever you see room for improvement you won't be afraid to speak up, and you'll readily ask questions, hit Google/StackOverflow or use our Pluralsight subscription if you're not sure about something.

You will have your ear to the ground of the development community, keeping abreast of what’s going on.

If you feel you're the person we're looking for then please provide us with your current CV, salary expectations and a covering letter (including any links to GitHub/StackOverflow profiles or similar), describing why you really want to work for Bravissimo and what it is about you and your skill set that sets you apart. Please send to:

Michele Wood, Bravissimo, Imperial Court, Holly Walk, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire CV32 4YB or alternatively via email to: jobs@bravissimo.com.

Please note that your application will need to have the covering letter in order to be considered, and you must have the right to work in the UK.

No agencies please.
