Merchandising Director - Head Office (Leamington Spa, Warwickshire)

Leamington Spa, Warwickshire

Salary: Competitive

Inspiring big boobed women to feel amazing

About Bravissimo

Bravissimo is a dynamic multi-channel retailer which provides lingerie, swimwear and clothing for women who need a D-L cup bra. We want big boobed women to feel amazing and we aim to inspire our customers to celebrate their curves and feel good about themselves. We have 26 UK Bravissimo shops and a well-developed ecommerce operation which accounts for 40% of the company’s £50m turnover. We stock a wide range of branded and own brand lingerie and bra-sized swimwear, have our own range of strappy tops and nightwear with built-in bras, and a range of clothing uniquely cut to accommodate bigger busts.

Bravissimo has won many awards for its products, service, entrepreneurial approach and originality, and for the last 10 years we have been one of the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to work for. We have ambitious plans for the future and we are now looking for a talented Merchandising Director to help us make our plans a reality.

About the job

As Merchandising Director you will be responsible for managing our supply chain, from the initial development of product, right through to delivery to our shops and customers. With your team of circa.130, across head office and our warehouse, you will manage the supply of own brand products from a variety of UK and overseas suppliers and manufacturers; bring both own label and branded styles into the business at the right time and in the right quantities; receive and store the product in our warehouse; allocate and distribute it across our 26 shops; and fulfil our mail order/web customer orders and returns.

Bravissimo’s merchandising is not straight forward, offering styles in up to 100 sizes via mail order, website and across 26 shops. One style in one colour can have over 2000 stock locations, and the pattern of sales from each of these locations is interrelated. The number of our sizes and the complexity of our processes means even the simplest activity becomes a mathematical challenge. Forecasting, size ratios, stock allocation and despatch and recall are run via a complex in house developed computer programme. You will be responsible for the continuous improvements of these specialised processes and systems as well as the more normal warehousing and distribution processes.

As well as being responsible for the Merchandising and Warehousing function you will join a team of 5 other directors and share in the running of the company. As directors we all work together on the development of the business, and as part of this team you will get involved in a variety of things outside your function. These might include attending team meetings in our shops, assessing new retail locations or new business development.

About you

We are looking for an exceptional individual who combines strong leadership and team management with exceptional mental dexterity and mathematical excellence. You will have worked at least 5 years in a senior merchandising management/ director role in a multi-channel retail environment. You will have demonstrable leadership skills and experience of managing and motivating an operational team. You will be highly inquisitive logical thinker who has the mathematical ability of an A* maths A-level student.

Experience is important, but what matters most is the person you are. We want a logical thinker with a questioning approach, who will revisit existing systems and processes and find improvements to them. Bravissimo directors are ‘player managers’. We take a hands-on approach so you must be willing to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in. We expect our directors to have a go at new things and get involved in the wider business so you need to be adaptable, enthusiastic and keen to learn.

If you think this is the role for you, please send your CV with a covering letter explaining why you would like the job, along with your current salary and benefits package to Theresa Carter at theresa.carter@bravissimo.com.

Merchandising Assistant - Head Office (Leamington Spa, Warwickshire)

Salary: £18k to £20k dependant on experience

About the job

In line with our growth plans we are looking for someone to join our Merchandising Team.

In general terms merchandising is the art of ensuring we buy the right amount of stock, in the right size ratio and have it available in the right place at the right time. Our aim is to have stock in the best place possible to ensure our customers have the choice they want in the size they want in any given channel.

Here at Bravissimo this is really challenging when you offer the number of sizes we do (up to 100 sizes on some styles) and makes it a mathematical challenge when analysing and interpreting information.

At Bravissimo we work as one team and as a merchandising function we need to ensure that everyone in the company, particular customer facing teams, have the appropriate quality and volume of information they need so they can accurately advise our customers.

You will play a pivotal part in working within our customer facing teams, working in stores and on the phones in our Customer service department. This helps us get closer to our customers and understand how our decisions can impact them.

Reporting into the Senior Merchandiser and working alongside the rest of the team you will be responsible for managing stock through our critical path process from source to store, placing orders with our suppliers and ensuring that products arrive on time to meet our season launch dates. There will also be plenty of analysis and reviewing sales numbers to keep your brain busy!

About you

We are looking for someone that has a natural affinity for numbers, who enjoys seeing the patterns and trends behind them and someone that can interpret these and present their analysis in a clear and uncomplicated manner.

You will be comfortable with handling large volumes of data, confident working with and enjoy using excel as much of your time will be spent working with spreadsheets.

You will be organised with good communication skills and have the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. You will be able to work at pace and be flexible to respond to issues as they arise. You will be proactive and work independently in your areas of responsibility. You will have the ability to build strong working relationships across the business and with our suppliers and above all you will have a real passion for meeting our customers’ requirements as this is of upmost importance to us.

You may or may not have had previous experience in Merchandising – however a background in an analytical role or retail experience would be an advantage.

Above all, we are looking for someone who has a real flair for numbers and a passion for working in a role that utilises this talent to deliver the best customer experience possible.

So if you think that this is the job for you, please send a letter explaining why, along with your CV and current salary details to:

Michele Wood, Bravissimo, Imperial Court, Holly Walk, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire CV32 4YB, or by e-mail to jobs@bravissimo.com.

Closing date for applications is Monday 8th August and the recruitment day will be held in Leamington Spa on Thursday 18th August.

All applications must have a full covering letter in order to be considered.

No agencies please.
