Full Stack Web Developer - Head Office (Leamington Spa, Warwickshire)

Node.js, React, Docker

Salary: Competitive depending on experience

About the role

We are looking for a full stack web developer to join our agile team and help us craft a fantastic customer experience as we rebuild our high-traffic desktop and mobile websites.

The work is both technical and creative in nature, requiring a blend of backend and frontend skills. As we transition from the .NET stack to a “twelve-factor” Linux cloud environment, you can expect to encounter technologies like Node.js, JavaScript (React, Angular), HTML/CSS (SCSS), RethinkDB along with a bit of legacy work involving ASP.NET, C#, Entity Framework and SQL Server. Whilst our focus right now is very much on the newer stack, you will need to be comfortable getting involved with both stacks as required. Embracing a DevOps philosophy, we also use tools such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, Rancher and New Relic. Open-minded and forward-looking, we are always evaluating the best tool or technology for the job so don't expect us to stand still for too long.

Being a multi-channel retailer, our projects range across areas such as point of sale, warehousing operations, CRM, marketing and ecommerce. Whilst you will specialise in one area you will no doubt contribute to others over time. Because we trade around the clock, we will also need you to provide ad-hoc out of hours support occasionally.

Working at Bravissimo is fun and challenging, offering the opportunity to develop your career in an organisation that puts customers at the heart of what we do and enables you to contribute to the positive impact we have on them.

About you

You’ll be a competent and self-motivated coder, able to prove your skills and provide examples of commercial websites or applications (especially on mobile) you've contributed to – bonus points for retail experience.

We don’t expect you to know all the technologies we use. What really matters is your ability to understand concepts and business processes quickly, work with fresh ideas in an agile environment and contribute as appropriate. We’re looking for someone hungry to learn with us and also keen to share your findings internally and with the wider development community. You will have your ear to the ground of the development community, keeping abreast of what’s going on with a view to identifying appropriate improvements for our business.

You will have a logical mind and good attention to detail, able to craft a polished product from design concepts provided. Whilst you won't necessarily be a designer, it would be great if you had a creative spark.

As a good communicator, you'll be keen to get involved in discussions and debates and express your own views. Whenever you see room for improvement you won't be afraid to speak up, and you'll readily ask questions, hit Google/StackOverflow or use our Pluralsight subscription if you're not sure about something.

If you feel that you're the person we're looking for then please send us with your current CV, any links to GitHub/StackOverflow profiles or similar, salary details and a covering letter letting us know why you want the job. Please send to:

Michele Wood, Bravissimo, Imperial Court, Holly Walk, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire CV32 4YB or alternatively via email to: jobs@bravissimo.com.

Please note that your application will need to have the covering letter in order to be considered.

No agencies please.

Our warehouse team ensures the distribution process runs smoothly and efficiently. It is each team member’s job to provide excellent service to our shops as well as our customers by picking, quality checking, packing and distributing all customer orders in an accurate and timely manner. The team is also responsible for receiving, putting away and accurately locating all stock entering the warehouse, be it delivered from a supplier, returned from a customer or through shop transfers. In essence, without the warehouse our lovely customers would not receive any of their orders and our shops would not have any stock to sell – so their jobs are essential to Bravissimo’s success!
