This used to be one of my favorite bras; it was such a wonderful fit and looked amazing on me. I just ordered a new one and was so disappointed in the fit - I fill out the bottom of the cups like they were tailor made for me, but there is so much lace material in the top of the cup I could fold it - about two inches extra! I can't believe this wasn't some kind of manufacturing defect because no woman has that much breast tissue on top if she fits perfectly in the bottom of the cup.
I discovered Marcie (while working as a bra fitter at a certain D+ lingerie store...) a few years ago and it's been my staple, go-to bra ever since. I love the upfront, rounded shape it gives and how it's almost in-between a balconette and a half cup. While not everyone will like how upfront it is, it's great at pulling you in at the sides if that's something on your checklist. It's lightweight but surprisingly supportive thanks to its firm mesh material and snug band – I'd say it's one of the most reliably snug bands for a 28 back. I find Marcies also last a long time, though of course washing by hand helps its life expectancy. Thank you Cleo for this godsend of a bra and thank you Bravissimo for making bras like this accessible.
I have tried and bought several bras at Bravissimo, but I always keep coming back to Marcie. It fits perfectly and the shape is really amazing. I haven't found another bra that fits or looks better. Please keep this one coming in different colours.
I have bought other bras since first buying Marcie and all of them disappointed compared to her - I've just orderd my 6th or 7th Marcie. Marcie seems to last longer than other bras; the shape, support and colour continue to be good (even though the lace looks delicate and pretty), even in my oldest one! For my boobs, the fit Marcie creates is outstanding - upfront, round and without so much coverage that she peaks out for lower cut tops (and i'm 37, breast fed for 4 years and have soft, squidgy boobs - that Marcie makes look perky!). I also love the frill detail on the briefs...just as an extra bit of sexiness! My only complaint is that i've never seen it in white! (Please come in white, Marcie...i'll probably never cheat on you again if you do!!)
I didn't like this bra at all. Felt very cheap and flimsy. It came up very high under my armpits. The cups were loose but the wire dug in at the centre. Highly disappointed.
My favourite Bravissimo bra so far. I'm only 5'3" and find that most bras are made for a taller woman ( is that a weird statement??) a perfect balconnette that doesn't have deep cups and gives a nice rounded shape and a little bit of va va voom! I also wish it was available in white.
It looks really more pretty on the picture than in reality. It didn't fit me at all, it was too loose in the back and the cups were bulky, my (quite soft) boobs bulging under the armpits. It didn't give them a good shape and it felt horrible.
The cup fit... "in-cup quadding" is the term for it. Basically, the diagonal seam is sewn too tight relative to the amount of fabric above and below, so it kind of gathers into the seam, digs into the breast, and makes quad-boob without you ever spilling out (so can't be rectified by a size change). The "fully adjustable" straps max out at 13 inches. This is remarkably short. At full stretch, they can reach 18", and I need 17", so you can imagine how badly that means they're digging in at that point. I wouldn't recommend this bra to anyone over 5' 2". It's sheerer than the photo would suggest.
