First of all I want to say what a brilliant sports bra this is! I love the style and colours, the fit is excellent (I sized up from my usual 28GG to a 30GG, which is what I also do in Shock Absorber sports bras), and it offers great support that stops bounce and minimises and compresses without squashing you completely. So why have I only given it star? Unfortunately I can’t wear it because of a design fault. I was fitted at the Norwich store, then a few days later put it on to go to the gym. I noticed that the clasps, where the straps join the band, slid up to one side. On further inspection, I could see what’s causing it – the loop of fabric on the back band is much narrower than the clasp, therefore, as soon as you pull (even gently) on the band and strap, the clasp naturally slides to one side and pulls vertical and, as a result, could be a potential weak point. If I compare it to all my other bras – daily ones as well as sports – they all have clasps that match the width of the fabric, so there’s no room for them to slide around like they do on the Orbit. I contacted CS about it and they happily replaced it, but exactly the same has happened again – and I have a friend who also has the bra and has reported the same thing, so I believe it is a design fault. You need to feel absolutely confident in a sports bra, you don’t want to be thinking about it while you’re running and jumping around, and you don’t want to be holding back on your workout in case your bra clasp might break because it’s under pressure from being at a strange angle.
I’m so disappointed, as it’s SUCH a great bra in all other respects. So it’s back to my trusty Shock Absorbers for now, but I sincerely hope you’ll look into this and sort out the issue either with smaller clasps, or with wider fabric to fill the clasp so they don’t slide around – thankfully it’s not a difficult solution. If and when you do, I’ll be first in the queue!
