Shock AbsorberRun Bra

2.8 out of 5 starsfrom a total of 21 reviewsRead all reviews

Calling all runners! This non-wired sports bra has been specially designed to reduce bounce when running and doing other high impact activities. It works by compression which means it holds your boobs close in to your rib cage to minimise jiggle. The inside of the cups and underband have no seams so it’s smooth next to your skin and the fabric is breathable to keep you comfortable.

This style comes up small in the back, so we suggest going up a back size from your usual size but keep the cup size the same.

Don’t panic!

Oh how scary trying to get out of this thing. I had to concentrate on my breathing and fetch my husband before having a panic attack (I’m not prone to these by the way). It’s the racer clip. Thicker than a bikini fastening but between the shoulder blades, you know where you can’t put your sun cream or scratch an itch. Friends who run say they just lift the fastened bra over their boobs. That’s all well and good if you don’t have monster boobs in the way. There is no way on earth you can stretch the bra over them. I settled for the Panache much better and I can dress myself with this one.

I’ve had one of these sports bras for years and it still lives on the only problem since having a baby it no longer fits. I appreciate what every one is saying as normally I buy panache bras size 30G and this I have in 34E. However it’s definitely worth the hassle of getting the right size!

Too small

I have another shock absorber bra - that's not a specific running one. I liked it and thought I'd try this run bra. I am a 28 FF and got a 30 in case. I couldn't fit in it at all so went up to a 32 which I can just about fit in the furtherest out hooks. I like the design so it's a shame the size is wayyy off. I even got myself re measured because I thought I got my size wrong - it turns out it's the bra.

I was really excited to receive this bra, the colour is outstanding but unfortunately it’s unwearable! I wore it for my PT session in the gym, and I had to keep running back to the changing room to fix it. At the back of the bra, the strap has a little hook that slides into an adjustable slot. No matter what I do, it keeps popping out and is rather embarrassing. I never had any problems with previous shock absorber bras and wonder whether this is a flaw in the design. A complete waste of money!

Sizing way out

I normally wear a 34FF in most Bravissimo bras. I tried on a 34FF in store and it was too small. I ordered a 36F - this is still way too small. It also does not give enough support for running I love Bravissimo, but I am very disappointed by their fit and support of their sports bras. Will continue to buy Shock Absorber from John Lewis!
