Not as good as Maya

Review published on:

Customer rating:2 out of 5 stars

This actually made me quite cross. I have been virtually living in Maya & given that it appears to be discontinued, I ordered this because it looked similar. Why take something that has clearly sold incredibly well (Maya), discontinue it and make a copy that is worse? Size was consistent (I ordered 2 sizes to be sure) but support is nowhere near as good (firm) as Maya, even though they've increased the number of hooks from 3 to 4. Shape is not as good as Maya; boobs are not as lifted or forward, E-W enough to rub against inner arms. Straps are awful on my narrow, short frame. They are so wide & high at the side, that they cut into the front of my armpit, where strap meets bra, the moment that I put it on. Instant discomfort/pain from the straps made the bra unwearable: I might otherwise have tolerated the reduction in support/shape. Maya had so much support built into the main body of the bra/cups/band & was so well designed that I was never conscious of the (comparatively) narrow, more-centred straps: By contrast, the support in Arla seems to rely largely on the wide straps but moving them further apart has reduced support. Putting so much of the weight on our shoulders can cause all sorts of muscular/spinal issues. If you don't have any neck/back/shoulder problems, are over 5'3 & don't expect a huge amount of support, this may work beautifully for you. For me, the perfect balance that I found in Maya is sadly missing from this bra. Bravissimo, why couldn't you have made Maya in a host of colours? I'd have bought multiples of every single one...

Very flattering bra

Review published on:

Customer rating:5 out of 5 stars

This is such a flattering bra. Although, I am towards the smaller end of the sizes Bravissimo cater for, that doesn't stop me being conscious of my bust but this bra to me almost works as a minimising bra without squashing at all. The outer layer of fabric smooths out all lumps and gives me a very smooth and wrinkle-free outline under tops. I vary from 30D to 30DD and am sometimes a 28E/F in bikinis, but the 30DD in this is perfect. I'd therefore say if anything it runs a little small in the cup. The orange band does fold over but this doesn't bother me and you certainly can't see it once you have a top on. Love this bra.

Looks lovely but...

Review published on:

Customer rating:2 out of 5 stars

I thought this was my most perfect bra, it looked great and gave me a good shape. The assistant said it fitted perfectly so I bought it and wore it a lot on and off for a couple of months. During this time I started getting heart burn for the first time. To cut a long story short, once I stopped wearing it I was fine again - it was causing pressure on my upper stomach, possibly because it was too too tight or the red band positioning. I am tempted to size up as other reviewers suggested but I'm hesitant after this horrible experience and not sure I want to risk it.

So comfortable

Review published on:

Customer rating:5 out of 5 stars

Have been looking for something like this for such a long time. So comfortable (never thought would ever say that about a bra!) with good coverage and support while still looking really nice for those of us who prefer the athleisure look. Got a bit confused with what size to go for as Bravissimo’s own brand has slightly different sizing but after buying online took them into a store where I was helped by really friendly, kind and considerate Bravissimo ladies, thank you so much. Please, please bring out more of this style in lots of lovely colours.

Extremely comfortable

Review published on:

Customer rating:5 out of 5 stars

I had to go up a band-size and down a cup-size compared to my usual size (I mostly buy Freya/Fantasie), but then it fit like a glove. I have the same problem as most people - the lovely red band curls up - but it doesn't matter that much, I hardly feel it. The bra is so comfortable otherwise - probably the most comfortable I have ever worn. It is comfy enough to wear as a sleeping bra - the wires never dig in, no matter which direction I move in. The shape is also very flattering under thin sweaters and t-shirts, an ideal t-shirt-bra under darker colours. I hope Bravissimo will do something about the band and bring this out in more colours - I would definitely buy it again.

So comfy!

Review published on:

Customer rating:5 out of 5 stars

I find Bravissimo bras tend not to be a great fit for me. This is the exception. It fits beautifully and is super comfy. I'm normally a 28H, and I got this in a 30GG and it fits well. So I'd say tight in the back, but cup size normal. As someone else mentioned the elastic rolls up, just at the front for me, but I have this problem with all bras like this and I don't find it uncomfortable or even really notice. It's so comfy I find myself reaching for it whenever it's clean... can't wait for more colours, I think it's my new favourite bra.

Too small

Review published on:

Customer rating:3 out of 5 stars

The idea is good. I would probably love it but fit is very small and doesn't come in big enough band size for me. So, I will have to return it. I would probably buy again if it came in bigger size.

Poor description on website

Review published on:

So disappointed as soon as I open the package (I expect I need to read the small print more carefully) but it was not clear to me that this was underwired. It is also very skimpy, not a 32 back size. It's going straight back and I'm £4 down for p&p cost.
