PanachePorcelain Elan Balconette Bra

3.6 out of 5 starsfrom a total of 98 reviewsRead all reviews

Lots of you tell us that this is the best T-shirt bra you've ever worn. It’s molded and lightly padded so it gives a really smooth, rounded shape (as well as the extra job of covering your nipples!). The microfibre fabric makes it feel soft and silky and the seam-free wings and padded hook and eye make it super-comfortable to wear. You can even change the straps to wear it as a crossover back if you prefer a racerback look or find your straps sometimes slip off your shoulders - bonus!

Hit and Miss

Have bought and rebought this so many times over the years, partly because it's super comfortable, well moulded and fits well, but also because it the underwire keeps coming through. Didn't used to happen, but does all the time now )in the last two years, maybe). I have tried everything to make them last longer. I've followed the instuctions to a tee, I've used laundry bags, pillow cases, delicates bags in the washing machines. I've religiously hand washed, hung up outside and inside to dry. Save from literally washing this in my frustrated tears, I have tried EVERYTHING but they will only last a certain amount of time before the underwire comes through. Don't know why this has been happening, if they've changed the manufacturing of it etc but it is SO frustrating, because when they are in the best condition then they're the perfect t-shirt bra.

Great bra

I bought this one in May 2015 for the first time, now (Jan 2017) I've purchased second one of the same!. It's very comfortable, lasted about 18 months of wear ( often as I have 3 bras). It's also very supportive. The white went quite grey after over a year but that's and and probably exaggerated by my washing techniques. Looked nice with any tops, dresses.

I'm a small girl with a large bust. I've had trouble finding good supportive bras that keep my breasts separated ever since I can remember. I live in the US, but I found a specialty store where I was able to try on one of these bras. At first, it does take some getting used to as the sides come up much higher than normal. However, after the first few days, that's done, and I couldn't imagine ever NOT having this bra... I bought 9 of them, and I will never buy another brand. I know it sounds dramatic, but Panache has literally changed my life. I just saw a non-padded version has come out, and I'm desperately hoping it fits as well as this one does for the summer months. I'm not used to wearing the padded formed bras and I tend to get hotter than most people. Overall though, great bra, and I'm looking forward to trying more from there line! Definitely worth every penny!

Great t-shirt bra

I bought this bra to replace and old worn-out bra. I was very happy with the fit and support. I find that the straps do dig in a little based on where they meet the cup but the support in the strap makes up for it. It's a great everyday piece that works under almost everything. It was more expensive than some of the other options though so I will be looking for something a little cheaper for my next neutral coloured piece.

Wish I hadn't wasted my money

I'm always on the hunt for a good T-shirt bra, but the Elan definitely isn't it. I had only worn it a few times before the cups became misshaped. It must have happened when I (gently) hand-washed it. Unfortunately it now makes my breasts look oddly shaped when I wear it. It's also pretty full coverage -- more than I like in a T-shirt bra. Wore it five or six times and am going to throw it away. What a waste!

not good support

I thought I would try this bra because of the coverage, but it ends up that the coverage is the only good thing going for it! The elastic is thin and weak and cuts into your skin and the shape it gives you is not good and I find it most uncomfortable in every way.

Bitterly disappointed

Had been a huge fan of the porcelain bra, indeed, it is usually the only bra I wear, however, this new style is horrid - the straps aren't soft like they used to be - instead they are sharp and have given me sores at the armpit where they rub. The style looks cheap and tacky now, not smooth and sophisticated. So upset after spending a lot of money on two new bras, and making the effort to even travel up to London to buy them. Bring back the original porcelain bra and get rid of this horrible one. I would NOT advise lovers of the porcelain bra to buy this one.

Beware . . .

. . . .it is different to the porcelain bars I have already got. This may be a replacement design, as the other one (?PN84) is now not available in white, so could be being phased out. The material is not as nice, it is not such a flattering shape, it is really naff where the strap meets the cup at the front, all-in-all looks cheap and nasty. Panache should be encouraged to keep the other one going as it is by far the comfiest bra I have, and the shape has some style and elegance to it.
