It did only just arrive, but my impression is that the fabric is a bit stiff (maybe the shower proofing?), but hopefully it will soften up with use.
I know that the belt will never be on - my experience with previous coats is that I don't waste time doing up a belt, is the coat/jacket is already closed, so I will probably just take it off.
I do agree with other reviewers that the belt is difficult to buckle, probably because the edges of the holes is only cloth.
I'm finding that the waist is mostly undefined, of course this can be a benefit at Christmas time. I also find that the belt-straps cause the belt to sit higher than I would normally place it and tightening the belt will cause a 'bulb' on the back.
The double breast-buttoning seems wide and (for my size) removes most of the feminin expression. I also know that I am unlikely to do up the inside buttons.
I like that the lowest button is close to the bottom of the coat as I have issues with wind blowing 'flaps' up on my other jackets (thankfully there is usually an extra button included and I have a sewing-machine).
I will have to put some reflective stripes on it, to make it traffic-safe. I walk along a busy street every morning and afternoon so in the fall, winter and spring I need something and remembering to bring one of those yellow vests in not what I'm best at, also it will make anything un-stylish.
I would love it if the safety aspect would be worked into the design of the coats and jackets in the future. Some light reflective piping bands. Or if there is a belt make it two sided so that one side is reflective (that way I would have a reason to keep the belt on the coat).
