Bra fitting after weight loss: how to find your perfect fit
Losing weight can bring big changes to your body – especially your boobs! From back bands that feel looser to cups that don’t sit quite right, we see it all in our fitting rooms. So many of you come in looking for a size and style that feels good again – and that’s exactly what we’re here for. Here’s everything you need to know about finding your perfect bra fit after weight loss.
What happens to boobs when you lose weight
It’s totally normal for your boobs to change in size, shape, and firmness after weight loss. Because they’re mostly made of fatty tissue, losing body fat often means losing volume (especially at the top), which can leave your bras feeling a bit gappy or less supportive.
The back band is one of the first things we notice. As your back and ribcage slim down, bands can start feeling loose, making bras less comfy and secure – even if the cups seem OK.
We see this all the time in our fitting rooms, and we’ve learned which bra shapes and styles can help you feel comfortable and supported again.
What bra styles work after weight loss
If you’ve lost volume at the top, start with bras that have stretchy top cups or a little lower coverage – they’ll flex with your unique shape and are great if you have one boob bigger than the other. For extra support, lined bottom cups and side slings are brilliant, especially if your boobs are fuller at the bottom or you’ve got softer tissue that tends to settle in the cup.
If your ribcage and back have slimmed down, you might find firmer back bands or narrower wires feel more comfortable. And don’t rule out non-wired styles – they’re soft yet supportive, and often feature wider bands that help keep everything smooth under clothes.
For an all-over solution, supportive bodysuits and shapewear can work wonders, offering smoothing, shaping, and full-body support to boost your confidence.
We’re here for you: why an expert bra fitting matters
