You may well have heard that most women wear the wrong bra size. We estimate that this is true for around 80% of women so if you’re not sure about your size, you are definitely not unusual! It’s no wonder that so many of us wear the wrong size as the choice of bras available beyond D and DD cup is so limited. The result is that many women who are blessed with bigger boobs squash themselves into bras that are too small in the cup or try to get around the issue by sizing up in the back in order to get more room in the cup, or often both!
At Bravissimo, we use UK sizing, so we offer bras in a 28-40 back sizes and in a D, DD, E, F, FF, G, GG, H, HH, J, JJ, K, KK and L cup. Converting your back size is the easiest place to start, as you can make a direct comparison with international sizes.
Working out your back size is simple and can be figured out using the chart below:
As lingerie brands and retailers around the world size their bras in a variety of ways, it can be pretty confusing and difficult to work out which size you should order.
In the UK where we have been fitting women for more than 20 years, our most popular sizes are FF, G and GG cups. These cup sizes may sound big if you’ve always thought that the biggest size you could get was a DD cup, but they really aren’t – they are totally normal.
Because the availability of bras in bigger cup sizes is so limited outside of the UK, many women have got used to wearing the wrong size, often wearing bras that are too big in the back and too small in the cup.
As so much of the support in a bra comes from the back band, wearing a bra that is too big in the back won’t give you good support, may well feel uncomfortable and really won’t make the most of your boobs or your fabulous figure. Getting the right fit can make such a huge difference not only to the way you look but the way you feel about yourself.
IF YOUR BRA IS UNCOMFORTABLE, PLEASE STOP WEARING IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AS IT COULD CAUSE INJURY.
We advise what we believe to be a good fit, but only you can know if your bra feels comfortable. If your bra is uncomfortable, please get in touch with us so we can help.
