You’re getting ready for a big night out, your outfit is sorted, but you’re wondering what to wear underneath? At Bravissimo, we believe that no outfit should be limited by your bra straps, so read on to find out about bra solutions so you can find the perfect lingerie to wear under any outfit (even those tricky ones!).
What bra to wear with low back dresses or tops?
If your dress is lower at the back and you’re worried that your bra is going to show, try a low back converter. A low back converter works by attaching to the hook and eye of your bra, then wraps around your body and fastens again at the front in a lower position – sorcery!
For plunging necklines, reach for a bra with a little less coverage…but no less support! Plunge bras have a low centre front which creates a deep V shape, while half cups are cut straight across but finish lower on your boobs than a balconette bra. Both will be a no-show under lower-cut outfits (and they’re a great option if you want to show off your fabulous cleavage!).
Looking for a smooth silhouette under a figure-hugging outfit? T-shirt bras simply disappear under close-fitting tops and dresses – a-bra-cad-a-bra!
Padded bras are made from thin foam to create a smooth shape – the padding doesn’t always mean extra bulk! Some T-shirt bras, like the Idol bra, are moulded (which means they’re seam-free) and others, like the Satine bra, use barely-there seams to give a smooth line under your clothes.
Those of us with big boobs can feel supported without straps – yes really! Multiway bras are a great option with halter dresses and spaghetti straps, as well as strapless and off-the-shoulder dresses. Bravissimo girl favourite Luxe by Curvy Kate has detachable straps that you can wear in lots of different ways (and it offers the support that we Bravissimo girls rely on, of course!).
How to wear nipple covers?
Nipple covers stick on and help to stop your nipples showing through close-fitting or sheer clothes. Silicone nipple covers mould to the shape of your boobs for a natural look and are a great option under a bikini or swimsuit. Fabric nipple covers are made of soft lace. The petal-shaped design is really discreet and works well under thin clothes or sheer bras. So, if you’re looking for nipple coverage when going bra-less or as an extra layer under a thin bra or swimwear - we’ve got you covered!
• Low-back bra converter from Perfection – if your dress is a little lower at the back and you’re worried that your bra’s going to show, try this out. It attaches where your bra’s hook and eyes are, then wraps around you, to attach again at the front in a lower position. Sorcery…!
• Racerback clips – these will pull your straps in towards each other so racerback dresses don’t have to be struck off as a party option anymore!
