Bravissimo is a company predominantly run by women. 93% of our employees are women, and the vast majority of our leadership and management roles are also held by women. Given this, our mean gender pay gap might appear surprising at first glance.

Because we have a relatively small number of male employees, our gender pay gap figures can fluctuate from year to year. A small number of male joiners or leavers can have a noticeable impact on the percentages. Internally, we regularly review pay to ensure fairness for the same or similar roles regardless of gender, and we are confident that our pay practices are fair and consistent.

It is also important to understand the nature of many of our roles. A large proportion of our teams work directly with our customers, fitting them in bras and swimwear. For reasons of privacy and decency, the law allows employers to specify gender for these types of roles, and at Bravissimo, these roles are carried out by women. These bra fitting roles exist across all pay levels, but most sit within the lower pay bands, which influences the overall gender pay gap.

Our results are not driven by a lack of women in senior positions - in fact, 89% of our employees in the top pay quartile are women. Instead, the gap reflects that we do not employ male bra fitters and that women make up the majority of our workforce across all levels.
