About the Job

As Senior Garment Technologist, reporting to the Technical Manager, you will combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to the ownership and management of the fabric technical function and processes within Bravissimo and our supply chain. As part of a busy product department, you will work closely with the pattern techs and buyers using your expertise and knowledge to ensure that fabric and trims meet quality standards and compliance requirements at every stage of product lifecycle. In addition, within the wider Wacoal EMEA Group a key part of this role is to work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that standards and processes are aligned across the group to deliver strategy in preparation for future regulatory requirements.

You are to ensure that you proactively seek feedback through regular time in customer facing areas of the business, in respect of your area of responsibility as a key part of the governance of your function

Key Responsibilities:

Work with the Technical Manager, wider group colleagues and 3rd Party suppliers to implement and shape raw material quality and compliance strategy and processes ensuring Bravissimo is ready to meet future regulatory compliance requirements such as DPP, EU ESPR

Work with the buying and technical team at development stage on the sourcing, assessment and testing of fabrics and trims ensuring all materials selected are compliant and fit for end purpose, meeting safety, durability and performance standards

Manage base and bulk testing and wash reports in line with own brand performance requirements, supporting techs with day-to-day admin, giving commercial approval and setting standards, working closely with 3rd party suppliers and internal teams to find solutions in instances of non-compliance

Approval of garment fibre compositions and care labelling requirements so all product is compliant with relevant regulations and legal requirements for all sales regions

Responsible for ensuring product and supplier compliance with physical and chemical legal and regulatory standards such as flammability, REACH, etc

Manage the raw materials database working closely with 3rd party suppliers to ensure we have traceability and that tech specs, test reports and relevant certification e.g. Oekotex, recycled content, etc is kept up to date

Monitor and manage key critical path dates for raw materials, attending weekly CP meeting and working closely with the internal teams and 3rd party suppliers to find solutions for issues that may arise

Monitor and manage raw material quality and performance through analysis of returns data and customer feedback working to find solutions and drive improvement of standards and Technical KPI’s

Person Specifications:

  • Passion for our culture and delivering the best quality and value for our customers

  • Min 4 years’ experience within fabric technology ideally lingerie and/or swimwear experience within retail or supply chain

  • Good understanding of raw materials compliance requirements

  • Proactive and positive mindset with a ‘can do’ approach

  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and 3rd party suppliers

  • Comfortable with working in a dynamic and fast paced environment and able to flex into changing priorities
